A Family Story Behind Veloria

Not long ago, my wife and I blended our families into one vibrant household. We now have four children and three grandchildren. Our two eldest are grown and raising families of their own, while our home is shared by a high school graduate and a second grader.

Like many parents can relate, raising teenagers brings its fair share of surprises—and sometimes, miscommunication. One day, our youngest son casually mentioned, “Dad moved in here from Grandma’s house.” Technically, he was right. I had moved in with my future wife from my mother’s home. But what he didn’t know was that, before that, I had lived in 25 cities across 8 different countries.

That moment hit me hard. Despite living under the same roof for over 12 years, there were still stories, memories, and experiences my own children didn’t know about me. And I realized—they had their own untold stories, too.

I wanted a way to bridge those gaps, to connect more deeply, and to create a space where our family could truly share. That desire led to a simple question:
“Tell me something I don’t know about you.”

That question became the seed.
Veloria became the garden.
